Hotel Photographer Phnom Penh – Capri by Fraser Case Study
Covering: Lifestyle Photography, Interior Photography, Exterior Photography.
As a Phnom Penh hotel photographer I was selected by Capri by Fraser, Phnom Penh (CBF) to photograph their newly opened hotel, as my portfolio and shooting style aligned closely with their modern, youthful brand identity. From the outset, the objective was to produce a set of hotel photography that presented a stylish, contemporary urban property in a way that would resonate with a younger, design-conscious audience.
The project combined two key elements: detailed architectural and interior photography, alongside a full day of lifestyle shooting with carefully selected models. These lifestyle images were essential in showing how guests interact with the space, adding energy and personality while reinforcing the brand’s vibrant, experience-driven positioning.
Photography Approach
This project was structured across multiple shoot days to capture both the design of the hotel and the experience it offers.
We began with interior and exterior photography, covering guest rooms, public areas, and key architectural features. The focus was on consistency, lighting, and composition, ensuring each space was presented clearly while maintaining the overall visual identity of the brand.
This was followed by a dedicated lifestyle shoot, introducing models into selected environments across the property. This allowed us to move beyond purely architectural imagery and create a more complete visual narrative of the hotel.
Working with the Brand & Marketing Team
The project was delivered in collaboration with the Capri by Fraser marketing team based in Singapore, working to a defined brief that reflected the brand’s positioning and target audience.
A small production crew was used on site to support lighting, coordination, and pacing across multiple shoot days. This ensured consistency across all areas of the hotel while allowing us to work efficiently within operational constraints.
Key Areas Photographed
The photography covered all of the hotel’s key commercial spaces, creating a complete image library for marketing and booking use:
- Guest rooms and suites
- Bathrooms and interior details
- Rooftop bar and pool with city views
- Restaurant and dining areas
- Lobby and shared social spaces
- Fitness and lifestyle facilities
- Exterior architecture and arrival views
Each area was photographed with its final use in mind, helping the hotel present itself consistently across its website, booking platforms, and wider marketing materials.
Lifestyle & Guest Experience Photography
A key part of the brief was to move beyond purely architectural imagery and create photography that reflects the guest experience.
Working with selected models, we captured natural, lifestyle-driven moments across the property, from relaxed in-room scenes to more social interactions in the rooftop bar and communal spaces. The focus was on creating images that feel authentic while still aligning with the brand’s visual identity.
These lifestyle images play an important role in hotel marketing, helping potential guests visualise their stay and increasing engagement across websites, booking platforms, and social media.
Photography Challenges & Execution
Photographing a live hotel environment across multiple locations presented both technical and logistical challenges.
The rooftop bar and restaurant areas required careful control of mixed lighting, particularly during evening service. The goal was to preserve the natural atmosphere of the space while maintaining clarity and consistency across the image set.
Throughout the property, each area introduced different colour temperatures, reflective materials, and spatial limitations. Guest rooms, bathrooms, and public spaces all required tailored lighting approaches to ensure accurate colour and a consistent visual standard.
Coordinating a multi-day shoot with models, crew, and hotel operations required careful planning and flexibility on site, ensuring the project was delivered efficiently while maintaining quality across all areas.
Results & Commercial Use
The final image set provides Capri by Fraser Phnom Penh with a complete and versatile visual library for use across their website, booking platforms, and wider marketing campaigns.
By combining architectural photography with lifestyle imagery, the content is designed to present the hotel clearly while also creating a stronger connection with potential guests. This balance helps the property stand out in a competitive market, where visual presentation plays a key role in booking decisions.
The images are suitable for use across multiple platforms, including the hotel’s own website, online travel agencies, and social media, ensuring a consistent and professional brand presence.
Hotel Photography in Phnom Penh
This project reflects my approach to hotel photography in Phnom Penh, working with both international brands and independent hotels to create images that align with their positioning and target audience.
The focus is always on producing photography that works in real-world use, from websites and booking platforms to wider marketing campaigns.
If you are looking for a hotel photographer in Phnom Penh or across Cambodia, the goal is simple: to create images that present your property clearly, attract the right audience, and support stronger booking performance.

Why Bathroom Photography Matters
Bathrooms are one of the most overlooked areas in hotel photography, despite being a key factor in how guests judge a room.
Without proper lighting and composition, bathrooms can appear flat, dark, or uninviting, even when the design itself is strong. With the right approach, however, these spaces can be presented in a way that feels bright, refined, and aligned with the overall standard of the hotel.
Guests often compare rooms across multiple properties before booking, and bathrooms are frequently part of that decision. Strong, well-executed imagery helps ensure the space supports, rather than weakens, the overall impression.
For an international hotel brand, this is essential. See how photography can influence bookings.
A Versatile Approach to Hospitality Photography
This project reflects a broader approach to hospitality photography, where the goal is not just to document a space, but to create a complete set of images that support hotel’s marketing needs.
From interiors and architectural photography to lifestyle imagery and detailed shots of key areas, each element is produced with its final use in mind. This includes content for websites, booking platforms, and social media, ensuring a consistent and effective visual presence across all channels.
Alongside hotel photography, this approach often extends to areas such as food photography, product photography, and brand imagery, allowing hotels to build a complete and cohesive visual identity.
